I am a new user of VS 2005, and wanted to develop under asp.net 2.0 using VB or C#.
I am just thinking, whats the big difference of using vb 2005 and vb.net ?
I really like VB 2005, but do I need to study VB.net before using VS 2005?
Pls. compare VB.NET and VB 2005, and what are their strong and weak part. Please help.. thanks

I have built a web site with visual studio 2005 with asp.net 2.0.
When i generate it with IE there is no problem to view the pages but when i see it in firefox all the page content go to the left side of the page.
How can i solve this problem?
Help me please as soon as possible.

I'm using asp.net 2.0 and apparently no one can help me with this problem. On my local pc, when tested the website runs perfect. However, once I publish the thing through ftp when accessing the site (www.someone.com) I get this error message:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)
I'm sure is just a matter of having the webconfig file in the right directory, I just don't have any idea and my webservice provider is pretty usless when it comes to asp.net 2.0 support.
Any help appreciated

Is there any way in asp.net 2.0 to specify by default the fiel that should appear in the textbox of a file upload control so the user does not have to navigate to the file?

I have an asp.net 2.0 web app that uses a sql server database. All is hosted on a sharing hosting account. I need a way to schedule my code to access the database every 5 minutes. Easiest way to do that would be to create a windows service, but this is impossible since I have a shared hosting and they will not allow me to install any windows services on their machines. Is there any other way to do that? Like a program inside SQL server or something?

Hi
I have to send email through asp.net 2.0. I have writtern code.
Its well working in localhost.
But when i upload that page in Leap FTP, it didnt work.
I think that because of two separate files such as default.aspx & default.aspx.vb error may be occur.
So i convert it into one single file. But it didnt work.
FTP doesnt accept web.config file in asp.net 2005. So i removed that file.
Kindly give ur suggestions.

Should I read both the beginning and professional guide of Javascript before diving into AJAX, or is only having a general concept enough? I am also looking forward to learning ASP.net 2.0. Asp.net 2.0 automaticcaly adds return url property when doing a sighout. I want to remove the return url property feature when i use the method FormsAuthentication.RedirectToLoginPage.
