I run a small businesses, I would like to be able to set up a way for my users to access a web-based application, or whatever so they can download documents and/or applications. Microsoft Sharepoint seams to much for what i need, Like I said I just have Files, documents, applications I would like anyone on my network to view, and ideas of what to do?? Thanks

Has anyone built or used any Intranet software before? I've looked at some open source packages that seem okay, I've tried Microsoft Sharepoint, they all seem okay but I'm worried about compatibility and upgrading in the future of this Sign Manufacturing company. Anyone with experience in Intranet development, please shed some wisdom on your process.

I am using Microsoft Sharepoint to edit them.
It seems to only happen in Firefox.
It doesn't seem like there is anything in the source code which should be causing this, so I am confused.
Can someone please explain how to fix this?

I need some serious help with this porgram, here are some simple questions that i can ask about this program.
1)What are tasks panes?
2)What are the 6 tasks panes when you open the software?
3)what are groups of controls?
4)What file extension do you save with??
5)what is the find/replace query?
6)what is Alt text?
7)what does the accessibility pane do???
8)What does view all do?
9)why do you need to create a master page?
if you could please answers these questions i have that would be great, i do not get the software, and i want to make a website!

Here are some simple questions about the software
1)What is the benefit from using summary view?
2)How can you match the color to an exact match on the page?
3)what will happen when you click the css property?
4)what is A "dirty page"?
5)what indicates that you have a dirty page?
6)what key on the keyboard allows you to change the margins
7)what key on the keyboard allows you to change the cell padding?
8)How do you preview you page in the web browser??
9)How do you create a work flow?
10)what are some examples of workflow actions that are availible and what do they do?
11)what part of the screen would you check to see if your workflow has been created successfully?
12)why use workflows?
these are questions i need help with, i do not have the soft in front of me right now, for i am not at my home computer, and will not be there for another 1 week and a half or so.

We have a server here and I was wondering how I could share my address book with someone else in the office. That way we could both have access to a updated address book. We do not have Microsoft Sharepoint or Microsoft Exchange server and I doubt we will be getting those services...SO IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY?

what the question is, is that I need to find a way to Synchronize my Office Outlook 2003 calendar and contact lists with my teams Sharepoint site.
I know this is possible but not sure exactly how to go about it without using third party application like corsaworks etc.HELP

SharePoint isn't meant as a standalone website management system as it's primarily a document management system.
It's usually used within companies to manage documents and versioning of these documents so probably isn't what you're after.
Dreamweaver is a webpage creation tool and is certainly the best on the market although the best option is to learn HTML and CSS as even Dreamweaver can produce invalid code that won't have great support cross browser.
It'd also be useful to read up heavily on the subject as there's so many outdated methods now that it's very easy to be creating code that won't use the latest web standards. For example, using tables for layout, using presentational code within your HTML.
There are also some open-source content management systems available like Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress which can save you time recreating the whell so to speak so are defintiely worth investigating.

Please help! I'm an Employee Admin and Marketing project manager, not an IT professional or a Developer but my latest project is creating an Employee Intranet using Microsoft Sharepoint. I need help making it perfect and right now its barely functioning. Does anyone have any good advice on where to get a crash course on Sharepoint or any good resources to teach laymen to use it?
