How much Salary

How much salary wil an Software developer get.
With 2.6 years experience in India .
Skill Set :Microsoft technologies(ASP.NET,ADO.NET,C#,SQL Server 2000,ASP.NET 2.0,SQL SERVER 2005) ,Javascript,HTML,XML,CSS,AJAX.

I would like to know which one is better (and easier) to learn: VB or cSharp

I just downloaded ASP.NET 2.0 with Ajax extension and I like it. However, I noticed that I should know VB or C#. So, please give me some suggestion. By the way, I have already know HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, and Dreamweaver.

What is the best software for creating a website? I want to create website like myspace

I want to create a website like myspace but don't know what software to use. I know there is ASP.net, CSS, Ajax and Flex 2.0. I just don't what software to start with to create this community website.

What skills should I have before trying to learn AJAX

I know HTML, CSS, and some javascript --even though I may have to refresh my memory on this. Should I read both the beginning and professional guide of Javascript before diving into AJAX, or is only having a general concept enough? I am also looking forward to learning ASP.net 2.0. Should I learn ajax before or after asp.net 2.0? Thanks for your help.

What will it take to get a job in web application development

I am currently a pretty solid front end website developer. I am strong in CSS, XHTML, and using Javascript and have written some small scripts of my own.

I understand programming and have played with both PHP and ASP.NET 2.0. I understand most of the fundamentals of programming... control structures, OOP (Classes, Objects are an instance of a Class). I have understand relational databases and how they function including how multi dimension databases work.

I can go into most code and tweak it to change basic pieces of it.

What I don't have is specific web application experience. I want to take the ASP.NET application route instead of alternative technologies like PHP.

What do you recommend I add to my skill set so that I can successfully enter this field in a corporate position. Should I develop 1-3 websites using the technology? Should I go get a second bachelors degree in computer science? I am looking for the quickest way to get in the door.

Thanks!

Which on is better to learn: Asp.net 2.0 with VB or Asp.net 2.0 with cSharp

I already know HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver CS3. I have notice that many of the jobs need Asp.net; thus, I want to learn Asp.net 2.0.

How do I learn ASP.net 2.0

I am an amateur webmaster, and I would like to learn ASP.net 2.0. Currently I know how to design in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Flash; but I would like to learn ASP since it is more programming-oriented and seems to be used by a lot of people today. The problem is that all the books that I find on Amazon are mostly references, but I don't need a reference -- more like a beginner's book. So what are your recommendations? Is there a website that helps you get the grip of it? Also, I am working with Microsoft Expression Web, not Visual Web Developer. Thanks.

Force Browser Cache Refresh

We are using ASP.NET 1.1 for our websites. Is it possible to automatically force a client-side cache refresh of all images on a page so that the user is looking at the latest images from our site?

I've tried using several META tags but the seem only good for the HTML page and not the <IMG> or CSS background images on it. The best I've found so far is a Javascript Location.Reload(true) but am having troubles on how to implement it without causing an infinite loop (I dont want to use cookies).

Thanks.

What Should I Do

So... I am a software developer for a company. I'm 18 and I know I'm young, but I am expected to understand and program in C#, VB, stored procedures, HTML, Javascript, CSS, ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0. I have gone through community college and know how to do everything I'm asked to do, including some certifications. But I believe I'm being taken advantage of (meaning under-paid) because of my age. I talked to a new employee who recently left for a better job. He's a great guy and a good friend of mine, but he doesn't know C# very well. I recently found out that after 6 months of working there, I discovered that the new people are getting paid twice as much as I am. I worked full time all summer and now I'm working part time until next summer. What should I do? Ask for a raise? Wait things out? I don't know...

CSS Width property Question

I have a Microsoft table in Sharepoint, that has a css class ms-listviewtable. Row headers and data are getting cut off. When I look at the css in DOM Explorer, it says that class has a property of width 100%. If I remove that property, and add back in the same property of Width: 100%, it works. The values are no longer cut off. Why does this happen since I didnt really change anything? How can I fix this one? Thanks!

Which is Better for creating web sites? Microsoft Sharepoint or Adobe Dreamweaver

SharePoint isn't meant as a standalone website management system as it's primarily a document management system.

It's usually used within companies to manage documents and versioning of these documents so probably isn't what you're after.

Dreamweaver is a webpage creation tool and is certainly the best on the market although the best option is to learn HTML and CSS as even Dreamweaver can produce invalid code that won't have great support cross browser.

It'd also be useful to read up heavily on the subject as there's so many outdated methods now that it's very easy to be creating code that won't use the latest web standards. For example, using tables for layout, using presentational code within your HTML.

There are also some open-source content management systems available like Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress which can save you time recreating the whell so to speak so are defintiely worth investigating.
